Commuting to work in the morning, it is hard to miss the new and very visible resident of Park Ave. Screaming at the top of her lungs at everyone who passes, this obviously mentally ill person who is seemingly incapable of taking care of herself is the newest inhabitant of the area. She roams aimlessly day in and day out around the surrounding streets.
New York’s Park Ave. is the home to several of the most prominent corporations in America including JP Morgan Chase, Blackrock, Blackstone, UBS and the NFL. It is also increasingly becoming a very prominent center for homelessness. For anybody traveling the streets of New York there is ample daily evidence that the cityscape has deteriorated progressively over the Obama years and further exacerbated by fellow liberal – Mayor Bill De Blasio. New York City is city for walkers so contact with a person who is among the record number of the homeless and mentally impaired on the streets is inevitable. We were lead to believe that eight years of Obama would cure all of this especially when working in combination with the Progressive policies of Mayor De Blasio.
A very visible breakdown in the fabric of our society
For even the casual observer or pedestrian, there is something very troubling about this dramatic and very visible increase in homelessness and street people that conveys an overt breakdown in the very fabric of our society. This phenomenon is primarily a result of the consequences of the American economy barely growing 2.0% annually during the Obama years and the corresponding failure of his Progressive economic policies.
The Democratic Party and the strongly aligned Main Stream Mass Media have failed to concede that they were defeated in the November election and have continued to refuse all opportunities to make any adjustments to their political philosophy or policies. They continue to lose special Congressional elections and counter by moving ever more towards the political Left therefore increasing the distance between their party and average American voters.
The number one priority of most voters is simply for Government to implement practical solutions that will allow our country to once again prosper for the greatest possible number of our citizens. With the Democratic Party, seemingly likely to continue to under-perform in future elections, a small number of Democratic politicians are beginning to consider that changes are in order.
An Anti-American American President
Former President Obama has spent a great deal of time overseas giving highly paid speeches to foreign audiences that spread negative images and comments about various aspects of our country. On Independence Day, July 4th, he warned Americans about feeling too proud and patriotic regarding our country’s accomplishments and distinctive character. He remains the star and shining light of the Democratic Party which is an excellent starting point to explain their continued demise.
The case goes beyond simply being out of touch with the concerns of average Americans. It is more profound than simply getting “in touch” with the people. Do Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren love America or want to radically change it at its core? Or are they globalists, looking to the Socialist and collective policies and economies of the European model as their guiding light for America’s future.
Most of their ideas are unpopular and have failed miserably in practice on so many levels and at their heart involve more government involvement in all aspects of our lives. They offer less choice and most importantly less freedom for all of us which is clearly diametrically opposed to our heritage. Progressive policies have been judged in election after election on a National and State & Local to have failed. Democrats are in a distinct minority on all levels of government across the U.S., however, they do continue to dominate on a municipal level. How are Baltimore, Chicago, St. Louis, Memphis, New Haven, Detroit, Atlanta and Washington D.C. doing?
Homes, Homes and more Homes
Homelessness is challenging problem for an increasing number of Americans, however, not for Barack and Michelle Obama, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Bernie and Jane Sanders plus Elizabeth Warren and her husband Bruce Mann. For each couple, ownership of multiple expensive homes or apartments is the rule with several of them worth millions of dollars.
This group rails against American Capitalism and greed and success; however, in practice they are each intensely greedy and driven by the accumulation of wealth in their personal lives. Insider driven book deals, paid speeches and appearances, teaching and media and consulting jobs all allow these couples to amass millions of dollars. A life spent in politics for these ultimate insiders has been extremely lucrative. Is it realistic to believe that these multi-millionaire members of the entrenched left wing establishment will be the agents of necessary change for their party or America?
President Donald J. Trump – Freedom Fighter
On the other hand, Donald Trump’s campaign slogan and guiding light is “Make America Great Again”. He is from outside the political establishment and a promoter of traditional American “values” and America First. He proudly revels in his personal business success; however, he attributes the opportunity of becoming rich and famous on the foundation provided by the existence of free markets and the power of American capitalism and the ability of our great businesses and entrepreneurs to create jobs, opportunities and wealth. He promotes an agenda of increased individual freedom, prosperity and opportunity for all, a strong national defense and a diminished role of government in all our lives.
We are witnessing a true battle for the heart and soul of the American people and the shape of our future and our destiny. Will Trump’s vision for a world where increased individual freedom and a path that delivers us back to having our fundamental values predominate or are we to be sentenced by the Democrats and their establishment allies to a collective future of increasing despair for all but an elite few?
